arab women

The goal of the new book Arab Women Rising is to bring attention to the incredible things going largely unnoticed by 35 trail blazing, determined women in the Middle East and North Africa. Authors Nafeesa Syeed and Rahilla Zafar interviewed hundreds of women who are changing the way business is conducted.

The book profiles some incredible ideas and the women whose drive is relentless to achieve despite barriers faced.

Rama Chakaki, pictured above, is the founder of a BarakaBits. Her website focuses on “good news from the Middle East.”

“I’m pushing to make sure that women of my generation are starting to invest financially, but also invest socially and be able to kind of profile themselves and the people in their communities…” said Chakaki.
